The relentless pursuit of creative expression fuels everything I do

I never stop learning. I strive to constantly evolve my skillset and stay ahead of the curve in cutting-edge fields such as Spatial Computing, Extended Reality (XR), and Visual Effects (VFX). My desire for innovation led me to start to learn the GrandMA3 console, which enables me to craft lighting sequences that enhance both physical and virtual environments.

My strength lies in surpassing boundaries and exceeding expectations. I'm not just a student of innovation, but also an artist of immersive design experiences and a storyteller who illuminates the future with every innovative concept and technical mastery.

BLINK - Cincinnati, Ohio 2024

Animator / Designer |  Giant Step

For the second time, I had the opportunity to refine my creative skills and showcase my 3D talent for about 1.5 minutes. Previously, while working on the Hanke building in 2022, I was new to the entire process and didn't fully understand how projection mapping worked on such a large structure.

This time, using Cinema 4D, I applied textures to another student’s animated flower from Blender, enhancing it with beautiful glass refraction shading (see right photo). For the finale, I envisioned the building transforming into glass and featuring many contrasting, deep colors. I used multiple area lights running through a scanned 3D model of the YWCA, which allowed me to create a layered visual effect. After rendering both my own "light show" and each of the lights separately, I composited the video together in After Effects (see left photo).

BLINK - Cincinnati, Ohio 2022

Head Editor ||  Isolation/Unity/Community

Artists from all over the world create awe-inspiring projections that are displayed on various different buildings in downtown Cincinnati.  I Demonstrated exceptional talent and creativity in delivering high-quality content within a short time span, despite it being our first time working on such a large-scale project with a significant audience. I excelled in collaborating with the team to produce a visually stunning and emotionally impactful composition.

Miami University Fall 2024

IMS 440 Projection Final

Using the same concepts presented in Blink earlier this year, I wanted to expand upon lighting a 3D scene with glass in Cinema 4D. In our class, students scanned the interior of the Kumler Chapel at Miami University, which allowed them to create a more refined model in Blender. Using both visible area lights and a fluid simulator called Jetfluids in Cinema 4D, I created a short edited piece featuring "Star Guitar" by The Chemical Brothers. Since this will be my final projection project, I feel that this was a great way to capture what I enjoyed and found entertaining throughout my college experience.

Miami University McVey XR Stage - 2023

Tech Team / Lighting Director / MUOH IMS 440 Capstone

During my junior year at Miami University, I was fortunate to work with a prominent virtual production company in building a LED XR stage. I played a key role in the construction and configuration of the lighting system.

Through this experience, I started my journey of learning GrandMA3, a leading lighting program used for concerts and virtual production.

IMS 440 Capstone

The IMS 440 Capstone course allowed me to partner with a small yet talented group of students in the newly constructured McVey Science Building at Miami University.

Working around the clock from August, to our rewarding final presentation in December 2023, our group created a number of vignettes showcasing the capability and potential of extended reality delivered via an XR stage.

The process video provides an overview of our team’s efforts along with highlights of the new XR stage.

Arcane (Netflix) Intro Cinematic

Arcane is my favorite TV series, and I still enjoy watching it. It inspired me to learn more about creating 3D scenes.

I wanted to effectively reverse-engineer the techniques that Fortiche used for the intro of Season 1. I began by exporting the video as a PNG sequence and using it as the background for my main camera. This allowed me to closely examine the lighting and positioning, so I could place my lights and models exactly where they needed to be. After rendering, I completed the project by adding stylized visual effects to the characters, such as radial lighting, dust, and film burn, as well as creating the linear wipe that occurs at the beginning.
